Advisory Council

The Station Advisory Council is a critical support group for Red Cross services and activities on a military installation.

The Council provides assistance and support for program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation; monitors the achievement of station goals and objectives; sets local station policies within the framework of corporate policies and guidelines; shares ethical responsibility for the station’s operations; participates in planning the station’s financial development strategies; develops goals, objectives, and revenue and expenditure budgets for volunteer programs, including childcare reimbursement, training, recognition, and volunteer support; acts as a steward and representative of the Red Cross on the installation.

Membership on the Council includes all Red Cross chairmen both programmatic (e.g., clinic, health & safety, school, youth) and functional (e.g., public relations, fundraising, special events, etc.) members at large and representatives from the community we serve. The Station Chairman chairs Station Advisory Council meetings. The Station Manager acts as a technical advisor and support person.
