How to donate to the Red Cross

The Red cross is a non-profit organization, not part of, nor funded by the government. Throughout the year we hold fund raisers in order to supplement our budget. The funds from these events go toward much needed supplies and reciprocal events such as our Volunteer Appreciation Event. 

           Types of donations we can use:

• Monetary. Please bring your cash or check written to   American Red Cross to either Camp Foster or Kadena Red Cross office, please specify the use for the donation if applicable; office, volunteers, disaster or other.
  
• Your time. Volunteers are the backbone of the Red Cross. Most of what is accomplished by the organization is done by volunteers and only a few paid staff,  95% of the organization is run by volunteers. 
  
• Items suitable for being prizes or gifts. We give these out in our Volunteer Appreciation Event, where every gift is greatly appreciated!
  
• Your knowledge/expertise. We appreciate your support!

        Types of donations we can't  accept:

(We don't have manpower to handle these kinds of physical items, nor a place to store them. Please consider donating the items we cannot accept to the Thrift Shop on Camp Foster.)

Your donation helps!

The Camp Foster American Red cross is a non-profit organization whose primary focus is to Prevent, Prepare for and Respond to emergencies. We often collect monetary donations to disaster area aid, since the local Red Cross chapter knows the best what types of items are needed in the disaster area. Other types of donations are always helpful, however, refer to our accepted donations list. Most major relief supplies for local disasters are handled by the military where as American Red Cross takes care of the monetary donations.
