Youth program is up and running! This is for teens

14 - 18, who would love to volunteer with Red Cross. The youth program is rather independently run, so the projects are fun to participate in and will help the community greatly. Want to be part of a good team? Come to one of the youth volunteer orientations!

Please find the necessary youth forms in the

volunteer forms section (on the left bar).

Fill them out and join TRY (Teams Reaching You)!  

 

To be part of the Red Cross volunteer team, you need to sign up online for the Red Cross orientation class. It is very easy to do, and the dates to the orientation classes are provided here with direct links to the sign up page.


If you have any problems signing up or if the class shows full, please call us.  You will need Camp Foster orientation class to work in the Lester Hospital or any other facility under our jurisdiction.

American Red Cross Camp Foster is conducting orientation classes on two Tuesdays each month. This class is targeted towards anyone who wants to become a Red Cross volunteer, learn about volunteer opportunities and how to begin the process to become a disaster responder. Please sign up to an orientation class here.

1st Tuesday of the month: 0900 and 1800
3rd Tuesday of the month: 1300.
Also interview by appointment.

Stop by the office to discuss possible work locations that fit your needs, or if you already know where you would like to be placed, come to one of the orientations. 


Childcare reimbursement is available with all volunteer placements,

other than dental program.


If you have already completed the orientation, just come in

and let us know where you would like to get started.

Appointments are also available for the initial orientation.

The American Red Cross on Camp Foster covers all the Marine bases,
Fort Buckner,Camp Lester and Naha Port.
 
The American Red Cross on Kadena  Air Base covers the Air Force, The Army Bases, Camp Shields and White Beach. To get information  about or to volunteer at the Kadena office, call them at 634-1979 or email them kadena@redcross.org.

There are many opportunities available for volunteers to gain work experience, everything from administrative and personnel management to assisting medical personnel and teaching.  We have a variety of training programs including working as a Dental Assistant, Disaster Services, Instructor/Trainer, Emergency preparedness and Service to the Armed Forces.
