 In case your zip code does not work with it, please use our zip code 96373 for the online course search. If you have any further problems, please inform us via email campfoster@redcross.org, call us or come to the Red Cross office to sign up.


The classes on this page are all the classes American Red Cross offers in Okinawa, please notice the location next to the class. The classes are held in the Red Cross offices. 

 

Want a class for a group? Call and we will have a class for you! Can't find a class time that works for you? Call and let us know that other time (daytime, week day, evening etc) would be better.


Regarding signing for a class, please make sure it is the class participant who is signed in the class, since the LMS system will be solid proof for the rest of their lives that they have taken the class. The certificate is given to the one whose name is on the class list.  Do NOT create an account for yourself if you don't take a class, you can put any email as the contact email.

The PRE REQ class is required before the instructor class if the basic certificates are needed.  If the basic certificates are still active but issued prior to 3/1/11, it is highly recommended to re-certify due to the nation-wide changes in the program.


Certified instructors can bridge over to instruct many other types of courses, such as Babysitter's Training, Pet CPR/First Aid, Professional Rescuer or Wilderness and Remote First Aid!


Must attend all sessions. Class fee reimbursable after 3 community classes taught for Camp Foster.

Student must attend all of the scheduled class times per class. Please consult our refund and cancellation policy letter for any questions you may have in this regard. Classes are subject to cancellation or changed due to low registration/weather conditions.

Students must be at least 11 years old to take the course and must be 12 years old to babysit on Marine Corps bases. Class covers child development & safety, diapering, feeding, responding to emergencies, and child & infant CPR and basic First Aid.

 Students learn how to respond to life threatening emergencies such as choking, poisoning, and exposure to extreme weather conditions; perform CPR and First Aid; and recognize symptoms and provide care for common emergencies such as allergic reactions and car accidents.

This course is designed to give parents the knowledge they need to make informed choices during and after pregnancy. The focus is on healthy living and responsible decision making. Topics covered in class will include discussion of the labor and delivery process, partner assistance, newborn hospital procedures as well as characteristics of newborns and family postpartum care. The class runs once a week for five weeks, and there is no charge.
